Laura is a Master’s Level, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) whom has worked in the human services field for over 15 years providing care to adults in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, treatment programs, social service agencies and outpatient clinics.
Laura provides both individual and group therapy for adults. She provides a weekly Women’s Therapy Group held on Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:45pm. The group is appropriate for those struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, shame, work stress and more. Its purpose is to provide a safe environment surrounded by other women navigating similar challenges/stressors. This group is a welcoming place to find support and encouragement as well as to gain increased confidence, explore dilemmas, challenge negative patterns, and implement effective coping strategies for an overall more balanced and enriching life.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed and stuck, it’s okay to start there. Together, we will explore what’s been weighing on you and work at a pace that feels right. Laura offers a space where you can feel safe to explore what has been difficult. She brings curiosity, empathy and gentle honesty into the work. She aims to listen deeply and respond thoughtfully.
Laura’s specialties include women’s mental health, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem, grief and loss, and trauma.
Laura’s therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioral techniques, psychodynamic, person-centered, solution-focused and she is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) providing a nonjudgmental space to explore issues, identify/implement skills and to be heard and understood.
Outside of her professional life, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially over a hot cup of coffee. She enjoys taking road trips to discover new places, good food, walking her energetic Shepsky, drawing, a good laugh, and is attempting to enjoy spending hours in freezing ice rinks with her three sons.
