Suzanne Shanklin, LPCC

Counseling, Mental Health Therapy

Suzanne works with adult clients navigating identity exploration, relationship and attachment challenges, trauma, grief and loss. Her practice is grounded in the belief that therapy is a deeply relational process and that individual well-being is interconnected with the systems and communities we move through.

Drawing on modalities including somatic practices, IFS-informed parts work, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness, Suzanne offers an integrative, attuned, and collaborative approach. She weaves in nature-based practices and expressive arts to help clients reconnect with their creativity and their innate connection with the living world as sources of healing.

Guided by anti-oppressive values, Suzanne’s approach recognizes how systemic inequalities and relational power imbalances impact mental and emotional health. She works with clients to understand the larger systemic forces behind their experiences to ease self-blame and increasing self-compassion.

Suzanne enjoys working with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folks, creatives, and people adjusting to Minnesota culture. She offers a trauma-informed, client-led therapeutic space where clients can explore their authentic selves, deepen their self-understanding, and feel genuinely supported in creating meaningful, sustainable change.
