About Beata Benson, ME

I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are, without
judgment, pressure, or the expectation of having everything figured out. Whether you’re feeling
overwhelmed by life’s challenges, struggling with your relationship with yourself, or simply
needing someone to talk to, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and
comfortable being yourself. I value genuine connections and believe that sometimes laughter,
honesty, and a little humor can be just as important as the difficult conversations.
My approach to counseling is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT). I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside
you as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we can identify
patterns, develop coping skills, build confidence, and find strategies that work for you. I don’t
believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and I want therapy to feel like a collaboration rather than
someone telling you what to do.
With a background in school counseling, I bring experience supporting children, adolescents,
and young adults through emotional, social, and personal challenges. I work with individuals
ages 10–32 and have a particular interest in eating disorders and disordered eating, body
image, self-harm, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. I also enjoy
supporting individuals navigating anger, life transitions, relationship difficulties, family conflict,
and school or work stressors. Additionally, I’m interested in helping couples strengthen
communication, work through conflict, and build healthier connections.
Above all, I want you to know that therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. You don’t need to
know exactly what to say or where to begin. Some days we might work on practical skills, while
other days you may just need a space to process whatever life is throwing your way. Wherever
you’re at, we’ll start there.
Outside of the therapy room, I love spending quality time with friends and family, getting lost in a
good book, and embracing my inner chef in the kitchen! Whether I’m trying out a new recipe,
baking sourdough bread, or experimenting with something delicious, cooking and baking are
some of my favorite ways to unwind. I’m also a proud plant person who enjoys adding a little
more greenery to my space (and finding room for just one more plant!).
