Marissa is a soft and compassionate therapist who hopes to connect with her clients using humor, non-judgement and optimism. Marissa is a bi-racial therapist who most enjoys providing a space for other biracial or multiracial teens or adults to talk through their journeys with validation and exploration.
Marissa incorporates various therapeutic concepts. She specializes in seeing children and teens (10+) who may have an Austism, ADHD, and anxiety or depression; providing psychoeducation and self-esteem improvement as well as practical skills. Marissa also provides individual, couples and family therapy in English and Spanish.
Clients who see Marissa often find themselves connecting with their body, slowing down and speaking to inner parts. She utilizes Internal Family Systems and other trauma-informed theories to provide and teach grounding and containment techniques, while ensuring the space is safe to return to for ALL individuals. In continued attempts to center holisticness in her work, she also brings in environmental and systems’ influence to assist clients in making their own meanings of the world.
